Our facilities turn residual waste into a highly refined alternative fuel, to generate heat and power rather than the use of conventional fossil fuels.
Both of the Oakleaf plants are purpose built SRF production facilities. Designed to accept and handle a wide range of input materials and streams whilst providing the high quality alternative fuels we are renowned for.
Pre-shredding
All inputs are processed & blended through the front end shredder to ensure uniformity of feedstock presented to the plant.
Fine & Coarse Screening
All pre-shredded material is finely and coarse screened to remove glass, grit and aggregates.
Trommel Sizing
All screened waste is then primarily sized via the trommel.
Magnetic and ECS Separation
Magnetic and ferrous metal and non-magnetic non-ferrous metals are removed from all waste streams.
Ballistic Separation
Separation into 2D/3D material streams.
Tomra NIR Separation
Identification of material types in each material stream, positive removal of fibre, HD, PET and PVC plastics.
QC cabin manual quality control
Manual quality control of all extracted recyclables.
Baling
All recyclable commodities extracted are baled and sold into the recyclable commodity market.
Air and vacuum material density separation.
Air classification of lights and heavy materials pre-shredding.
High speed shredding
Final shredding of cleaned residual waste streams into the SRF fuel flock.
SRF to Kilns
The SRF fuel flock is loaded into lorries destined for the cement kilns for combustion.
